The Chief Development Officer provides strong management and leadership of the fundraising team, who are responsible for raising the funds and volunteer services to execute our mission. The CDO informs the highest level of decision making and reports to the CEO as well as to the board as part of a leadership team. The job requires great communication skills with fellow employees and donors, of diverse backgrounds. The CDO also supervises the director of accounting and administration with support.


Responsibilities for Development & Communications:


  • Supervise and support a talented fundraising team with diverse skills and 4-14 years of fundraising tenure at Agape.
  • Oversee the execution of the organization's fundraising plan and revenue stream, including multiple annual campaigns, events, grants, and individual donor development, to raise the annual operating budget of ~$3 million.
  • Develop individual donor strategies and manage your own portfolio of major and top donors, cultivating and strengthening relationships, and collaborating on ways to support.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the work of the administrative team, especially by supervising the director of Accounting and Operations.
  • Participate in the leadership of the whole organization through staff development and Agape's core values and work culture.

Qualification Requirements:


  • 5+ years of professional fundraising experience AND 5 years supervisory experience, especially overseeing multiple position types
  • Prefer a candidate with experience in a Christian ministry setting and who agrees with Agape's statement of faith.
  • Experience successfully soliciting $10K gifts.
  • Experience working on a capital campaign.
